## Description

PlayTerms is an online sports dictionary designed to help beginners and casual fans understand the language of sport. It explains terms, rules, and plays in plain English, avoiding jargon and lengthy explanations so readers can quickly make sense of what they see on the field, court, or screen. Visitors can browse an extensive A–Z selection of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, cricket, tennis, boxing, sailing, and many others, or search for a specific sport or term. Each sport has an alphabetized collection of definitions, with examples intended to make concepts easier to grasp. The site also publishes beginner-friendly guides and articles on sports terminology, covering topics such as confusing phrases, differences in how terms are used across sports, and essential vocabulary for individual games. Recently added definitions highlight new entries from a range of sports. PlayTerms presents a simple three-step learning process: choose a sport, find a term using search, and read its clear definition.
