At the heart of PlayWrite's workshops is a three-pronged approach that helps youth transform their lives by focusing on skill-building, communication, and reclaiming the potency of their experiences. Their professional coaches and actors work one-on-one with youth, providing support and guidance as they become the writers and directors of their own stories.

PlayWrite recognizes that many of the youth they work with have experienced trauma, abuse, and neglect, and therefore create a safe and empowering environment for them to heal and grow. Through reflective writing exercises, movement, and sound, participants are able to build resilience, express themselves creatively, and cultivate confidence. PlayWrite offers online workshops and encourages volunteers and donors to get involved in their mission.
