## Description

Plooschter Projet is a Luxembourg-based organisation dedicated to raising awareness of blood cancer and helping patients find compatible stem cell donors. Founded in 2014, it encourages people to register as donors through public information and registration events, with more than 17,000 people registered at its activities since its launch. The project runs over 40 activities each year, including outreach in schools, workplaces and community events, and can arrange registration sessions for organisations. Its team includes more than 60 volunteers and qualified nurses.

People can support the cause by registering for stem cell donation, giving blood, becoming an organ donor or making a financial donation. Donations help support various foundations, and the organisation holds public-benefit status. Registration involves a health questionnaire and a blood test to determine a person’s HLA type; eligible donors may later be contacted if they match a patient. Plooschter Projet also provides educational campaigns and information materials in several languages, explaining donation and the steps involved.
