## Description

PMAZH, the Programme for Maintaining Agriculture in Wetland Areas of the Artois-Picardie Basin, works to reconcile farming practices with ecological protection and support the sustainable management of wet grasslands. Its focus is on the Hauts-de-France region, where grasslands provide important benefits, including habitat for biodiversity, pollination, feed for livestock, water-resource protection, erosion control, carbon storage, and landscape quality. Because their preservation depends strongly on continued livestock farming, PMAZH promotes support programmes that help sustain agriculture in wetlands.

The programme connects farmers and technical professionals through more than 30 technical meetings each year, organized by territory, and offers an agenda of events and practical resources classified by category and keyword. Activities include collective field sessions, such as Pâtur’Ajuste, which explores how grassland flora can be managed to encourage desired species and reduce others. Through its resources, events, and initiatives, PMAZH provides information and opportunities for exchange around biodiversity, wetland farming, and the long-term care of regional grasslands.
