## Description

The Journal of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology (PMI Journal) is an international, multidisciplinary scholarly journal dedicated to connecting pathology, microbiology, and immunology and advancing understanding of how these fields interact. Founded in 1924, it marked more than a century of publishing in 2024 and adopted its current name that year, having previously been known as APMIS. The not-for-profit journal publishes basic and clinical research across in vitro, preclinical, clinical, epidemiological, regulatory, and population-based registry studies. Its publication opportunities include research articles, reviews, perspective pieces, and contributions to themed focus issues. Topics range across the journal’s core disciplines, with calls for papers highlighting areas such as artificial intelligence in diagnostic, clinical, and forensic pathology. The journal welcomes submissions from researchers at all career stages and promotes rigorous peer review, broad readership, and timely publication. It also supports emerging scholars through its Young Researchers’ Universe resource hub and features early-career perspectives in its Meet the Next Generation of Researchers series.
