## Description

Pia Monique Murray Dance Collective (PMMDC) is a dynamic platform led by multidisciplinary artist and creative producer Pia Monique Murray. PMMDC is dedicated to producing innovative movement-based performance works that prioritize community engagement and audience interaction. The collective's projects encompass a variety of art forms, blending movement, video, sound, and installation, thereby dissolving traditional artistic boundaries. Notable initiatives include BLACK DAISIES, a project focused on joy as a form of political activism, and PORTALS: Traversing Black Continuums, an interactive installation aimed at exploring Black experiences. PMMDC also actively collaborates with local artists and communities, exemplified by the FREE Friends' Fest, an engaging festival featuring free art activities and performances. Through projects like As Quiet as It's Kept, which delves into the narratives of longtime residents in Bedford-Stuyvesant, PMMDC underscores its commitment to fostering artistic dialogue and cultural exchange. Overall, PMMDC celebrates the power of collaborative art in making meaningful contributions to society.
