## Description

The Projet de Mobilité Urbaine d’Abidjan (PMUA) is an urban mobility initiative focused on improving how people travel across Greater Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Its flagship project is the Yopougon–Bingerville Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), a modern, high-capacity bus service designed to provide fast, frequent, comfortable and cost-effective journeys between the two municipalities. Operating on a dedicated corridor along the east–west route, the BRT is intended to meet growing demand and support more sustainable urban travel.

The PMUA’s wider programme also covers public transport network restructuring and support for SOTRA, including technical assistance, two bus depots, and road and urban infrastructure improvements. It seeks to integrate informal transport, such as communal taxis and minibuses, into the metropolitan transport system. Additional activities include professional training in transport and urban planning, capacity development for transport professionals, and support for social protection measures. Through these projects, the PMUA aims to improve the efficiency of mobility and strengthen the connections that serve residents and businesses across Abidjan.
