## Description

The Poetic Research Bureau is a unique literary organization based in Los Angeles, CA. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, they are dedicated to promoting the exploration of language and the arts. With a focus on fostering an intellectually stimulating environment, the Bureau serves as both an archive and a research bloc during the day, and transforms into a vibrant public forum by night. They offer a range of services, including hosting various reading series and providing a platform for presentations, readings, screenings, and intellectual exchanges. The Bureau also acts as an umbrella for several literary projects, such as The Germ, a poetry journal edited by Andrew Maxwell and Macgregor Card, Area Sneaks, an art-lit magazine edited by Rita Gonzalez and Joseph Mosconi, and Make Now Books, edited by Ara Shirinyan. With an emphasis on ephemeral works, short-run magazines, reprints, and print-on-demand formats, the Bureau strives to expand the public domain by embracing diverse forms of literature, including appropriations, impersonations, and historical thefts. They welcome writers who challenge the mainstream and aim to create thought-provoking experiences that push boundaries. Visit the Poetic Research Bureau on Beverly Boulevard to explore the exciting world of literature and the arts.
