## Description

PolitiTweet is an innovative platform dedicated to maintaining a free and open database of public figures' Tweets, serving as a vital tool for journalists, researchers, activists, and concerned citizens. By preserving a persistent archive, PolitiTweet ensures that the public record is upheld, even when Tweets are deleted, thereby facilitating accountability among influential individuals. As of April 3, 2023, PolitiTweet has transitioned into a public archive, ceasing the archiving of new Tweets while continuing to provide access to its extensive database for past records.

Users can explore a comprehensive collection of information on political figures, enabling them to reference tweets for news articles, citations, and research purposes. PolitiTweet is widely recognized and cited by major news organizations, including NBC News and CNN, underscoring its significant role in the media landscape. The platform emphasizes privacy by only tracking public accounts of notable individuals, ensuring that it respects personal privacy while delivering important public information.
