## Description

Polkascan is a pioneering brand within the blockchain space, primarily known for its role as an open-source block explorer for the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. Established by the Polkascan Foundation, the platform has been a vital tool for users and developers to navigate the complexities of blockchain transactions and data. However, as of March 3rd, 2024, the hosted instance of Polkascan will be retired due to funding challenges highlighted by a recent treasury proposal rejection. Despite this discontinuation, the foundation remains committed to supporting and sustaining other crucial initiatives, such as the Python Substrate Interface, which aids developers in creating applications within the ecosystem. With five years of community collaboration and innovation behind them, the Polkascan team expresses deep gratitude to all contributors. The source code for the Polkascan explorer will remain accessible on GitHub, ensuring that its legacy endures in the open-source community. Polkascan continues to foster development and collaboration in the blockchain space from their base in Zwijndrecht, Netherlands.
