## Description

Polska1926 is a historical research and public-access portal presenting one of the largest named records of people in the Second Polish Republic. Its central resource is the collection of nearly 1.3 million signatures gathered in 1926 beneath the Declaration of Admiration and Friendship for the United States, created to express gratitude for American assistance in the establishment of an independent Poland. The portal helps visitors discover relatives and learn where they lived and who they were at the time.

Users can explore the material through an advanced search and browse records by locality, signature, volume, page, and person. The site also features a map of Poland in 1926 showing the distribution of signatures, a photo gallery, historical context, and downloadable materials. Polska1926 shares educational resources, including a booklet marking 100 years of the Declaration and a digitized book of thank-you letters sent to Herbert Hoover in 1921. Through projects, competitions, news, and opportunities to contribute personal stories, the portal encourages public engagement with history.
