## Description

The Cook Sisters is a cooking and nutrition initiative that began as a collaboration between two cooks and the United States Botanic Garden. It has grown into an area-wide traveling cooking show, with dozens of appearances each year, and offers cooking classes online and at the Botanic Garden. Classes are organized around seasonal ingredients, with imaginative, flavorful recipes presented in an accessible way so participants can understand and make them themselves.

The Cook Sisters also offers Happily Hungry, a pediatric nutrition program custom-designed for healthcare facilities and their patients. Each program is planned around a facility’s specific needs, including its available space, preferred frequency of cooking demonstrations, and staff available to coordinate activities. Related offerings include the Superhero Smoothies resource and The Happily Hungry Story, alongside seasonal nutritious recipes. Through its classes, demonstrations, and pediatric programming, The Cook Sisters brings practical cooking and nutrition education to community settings, helping make seasonal food approachable and engaging for a range of audiences.
