## Description

Ponteditora is a Portuguese-language publisher focused on advancing knowledge through science and scholarly communication. Guided by the aim of fostering a community connected by the Portuguese language, it publishes scientific books and journals, offers open-access publications, and produces the newspaper A Pátria. Its academic scope includes engineering and technology, medical and health sciences, social sciences, and humanities.

For submitted publications, Ponteditora describes a quality-assurance process in which the editorial secretariat conducts an initial assessment, followed by review from two independent editors. A third editor is consulted if their assessments differ. The publisher also invites authors to submit manuscripts and provides an online shop for its publications.

Ponteditora develops an annual programme through partnerships and affiliations with related organisations in Portugal and abroad, with participation in specialist fairs and technical and scientific gatherings. Its website shares information about the editorial team, scientific council, publishing standards, ethics, and open-access series. The publisher accepts works using either current Portuguese orthography or earlier spelling conventions.
