## Description

The Royal British Legion is a renowned brand committed to supporting the Armed Forces community. Their new plastic-free poppy, available from October 2023, marks a significant milestone in their sustainability efforts. Made entirely from paper, this innovative poppy can be recycled in ordinary paper recycling collections, ensuring a reduced impact on the environment. By eliminating single-use plastic, the Legion aims to be more sustainable and lessen its carbon footprint. The new poppy design maintains the iconic shape and symbolism of Remembrance, reinforcing its status as a national symbol for honoring the service and sacrifices of the Armed Forces community. The Legion has collaborated with experts, including Professor Paola Lettieri from University College London, to ensure the poppy's sustainability. By choosing paper over bio-based plastics, they have successfully reduced the poppy's overall environmental impact. With the launch of the plastic-free poppy, the Legion invites individuals to support their vital work during the Poppy Appeal and help maintain their commitment to a more sustainable future.
