## Description

Porphyra is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to Byzantine Studies. Founded in 2003 by Nicola Bergamo, it promotes original research and interdisciplinary scholarship on the Byzantine world and its legacy. Its coverage spans politics, history, literature, culture, religion, and everyday life, and it welcomes contributions from scholars worldwide. The journal uses a double-blind peer-review process and is supported by an international scientific committee. Porphyra publishes journal issues and special collections, including the 20×20 anniversary project, which celebrates two decades of publication through contributions from distinguished scholars. It also collaborates with the Association des jeunes chercheurs en études byzantines on Confronti su Bisanzio, a series featuring thematic issues on Byzantine studies. Porphyra is currently pursuing formal inclusion among the “Class A” scientific journals recognized by Italy’s Ministry of University and Research. With its sustained international collaboration and online presence, the journal provides a platform for research, scholarly exchange, and fresh perspectives on Byzantine history and culture.
