## Description

The Port Douglas Marlin Challenge is an annual game-fishing tournament held during the heavy tackle season in Port Douglas, Queensland. It welcomes anglers from across Australia and around the world to compete for the opportunity to catch marlin, including the highly anticipated 1,000-pound fish. The event draws game-fishing boats and crews to the Marlin Coast, which the organisers describe as offering some of the world’s best marlin fishing.

The 2026 tournament is scheduled for four consecutive days of fishing, from November 18 to 21. A presentation night is planned for November 21 at Salsa Bar and Grill in Port Douglas. Participants can register through the event, with registrations and payments required to be finalised by November 11, 2026. The website also provides event information, registration details, results from past tournaments dating back to 2010, a photo gallery and information about the 1,000lb Club. The challenge is based in Port Douglas, with contact details provided for enquiries.
