## Description

Portobello Toddlers Hut is a community playgroup in Portobello, by the sea north of Edinburgh, Scotland. Established in 1929, it provides a warm, welcoming setting where children can explore, play and develop at their own pace. Its play-centred environment offers a balance of freedom and routine, with indoor and outdoor opportunities for learning through play. A small, experienced staff team aims to give children and families individual, supportive care.

The playgroup serves children aged 2.5 to 5 and operates during school terms. Sessions run Monday to Thursday, with morning, afternoon and full-day options. Fees and available places vary; families are directed to contact the playgroup or check its Facebook page for current information. Parents and carers can get involved through committee membership, stay-and-play sessions and fundraising activities. As a self-funding playgroup and registered charity, Portobello Toddlers Hut relies on community support to maintain its premises and equipment. It also maintains policies covering child protection, health and safety, medication and infection control.
