Rick Guidotti is an award-winning photographer and the founder of Positive Exposure. The brand originated from a chance encounter in 1997 when Rick met a young lady with albinism at a bus stop in New York City. Inspired by her extraordinary beauty, Rick sought a better understanding of albinism and was appalled by the dehumanizing images in medical textbooks. This experience led him to shift his focus from traditional beauty standards to celebrating the diversity and richness of the human experience. In June 1998, Positive Exposure was launched with a powerful photographic essay in LIFE Magazine, titled Redefining Beauty. Since then, Rick has traveled to all 50 U.S. Positive Exposure has become a global 501(c)(3) charitable organization, collaborating with advocacy groups, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations. Their mission is to promote a more equitable and compassionate world by combating stigma and exclusion through photography, film, education, and advocacy. Positive Exposure's work has been featured in regional, national, and international media outlets and is the subject of the acclaimed 2015 documentary, On Beauty.
