## Description

Buurtschap Poteind is a close-knit community in Zundert, founded in 1936 and known for building an elaborate float for the town’s annual Bloemencorso. Its members work together on each year’s design and construction, bringing neighbours of different ages together through creativity, volunteering and shared celebrations. Poteind also takes part in community events throughout the year, including family activities, a children’s corso, quiz nights, festivals and social gatherings. The group welcomes public interest in its work and has invited visitors to view the float-building process at its workshop.

The buurtschap’s floats have earned notable recognition, including first place and the audience award in 2023, and third place in 2024. Some projects also explore broader themes: its 2022 float, Clean Up!, highlighted plastic pollution and its effects on sea turtles, alongside efforts to encourage responsible waste and material use. Poteind is supported by local sponsors and raises funds through activities such as collecting scrap metal. Its website shares news, event information, designs and updates about the community’s corso projects.
