## Description

The Walk of Peace is a cross-border heritage and outdoor tourism initiative connecting World War I sites across Slovenia and Italy, from the Alps to the Adriatic. Its more than 500-kilometre trail links over 300 monuments and places of remembrance, tracing the history of the Isonzo Front while sharing a message of peace, cooperation and friendship among nations. Visitors can explore the region on foot or by bicycle, following mountain paths, former military tracks, river routes and vineyard roads through varied landscapes. The Walk also supports family outings, educational visits and organised group programmes, with guided tours and bus-accessible points of interest. Its experiences include outdoor museums, memorial sites, visitor centres and attractions such as the Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit in Javorca, the Kolovrat and Sabotin outdoor museums, and the Park of Peace at Cerje. The initiative provides a heritage map, visitor information, trail guidance and details about accommodation and local experiences, helping visitors discover the area’s history, nature and communities at their own pace.
