## Description

The Red Lion Group (RLG) is a dedicated support charity established in 1994 by individuals connected to St. Mark’s Hospital in London, aimed at supporting those who have undergone or are contemplating J Pouch surgery, also known as ileal pouch-anal anastomosis. This type of surgery is pivotal for many dealing with bowel conditions, and RLG serves as a welcoming forum for sharing experiences, insights, and advice among patients, families, and friends.

Open to anyone affected by J Pouch surgery, RLG operates entirely through the passion of its volunteer members and contributes surplus funds to support innovative research at St. Mark's Hospital, one of the world’s leading institutions for bowel treatment. Membership benefits include priority access to events, informational resources, and complimentary Medic Alert cards. The Red Lion Group is committed to fostering a strong community while providing essential information and support to its members, ensuring a brighter journey for those navigating the complexities of pouch surgery.
