## Description

Pohjois-Pohjanmaan Näkövammaiset ry is a regional association representing and supporting people with visual impairments in Finland’s North Ostrobothnia region. As an affiliated association of the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired, it works to promote members’ interests through advocacy, specialist guidance and cooperation with other organisations. Its activities are grounded in peer support and shared expertise, helping people with visual impairments connect, access information and navigate everyday life.

The association offers a range of activities and services, including rights advocacy, information on employment matters, peer-support opportunities and presentations by experts with lived experience. It also provides information about digital support and ICT services through its website, alongside activity details, event listings and a monthly member bulletin. Members can find updates about the association, its activities and relevant news from the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired. To make communication more accessible, the association uses telephone assistants to handle membership enquiries and event registrations when staff cannot answer immediately.
