Juan Antonio Corretjer Puerto Rican Cultural Center (PRCC) is a prominent and influential brand that has been serving the Puerto Rican community in the Midwest since its establishment in 1972. As the driving force behind Paseo Boricua, the economic, political, and cultural hub of the community, PRCC has been instrumental in preserving Puerto Rican heritage and resisting gentrification. PRCC offers a wide range of programs and services in four key areas: Education, Public Health, Housing, and Economic Development. These include HIV and STD education and prevention, bilingual-bicultural daycare, small business incubation, housing and entrepreneurship initiatives, community newspaper, and organizing major annual events. They also support relief efforts in Puerto Rico after natural disasters, such as Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Led by visionary José E. López, PRCC's Executive Director and co-founder, the organization has played a pivotal role in empowering the Puerto Rican community by providing education, training, and fostering community wellness and stability. Support for PRCC's mission can be provided through various means, including donations, becoming a sustainer, legacy giving, and volunteer opportunities. By preserving its history through the PRCC Archive project, the organization aims to deepen roots in the vibrant Humboldt Park barrio and propel the elaboration of decolonial alternatives.
