## Description

**Predimed Plus** is a groundbreaking research initiative focused on the Mediterranean diet, aimed at assessing its impact on health and disease prevention. This extensive study, recognized as Spain's largest nutrition research project, evaluates the effects of an intensive weight loss program based on a hypocaloric Mediterranean diet, combined with physical activity promotion and behavioral therapy, to prevent cardiovascular diseases.

Launched in September 2013, the project successfully recruited 6,874 participants across 23 medical centers and hospitals throughout Spain, supported by 7 localized support groups. Predimed Plus not only emphasizes the importance of a nutritious diet but also fosters community engagement and collaboration between healthcare professionals and participants.

With ongoing updates and achievements celebrated through various events, including volunteer recognition and awards ceremonies, Predimed Plus exemplifies a commitment to innovation in nutritional research and public health. For more information on this transformative project, interested parties can visit the official Predimed Plus website.
