## Description

Prescription Foods is a Pittsburgh-based social-purpose fermented foods company founded in 2015 by a husband-and-wife team whose work grew from years of refining family recipes. The brand promotes traditionally fermented foods and nutritional education, encouraging people to reconnect with food and health. It makes raw, vegan, gluten-free products using natural fermentation, with no added sugar, preservatives, or vinegar. Its range includes Cofir, cultured young coconut water; Cogurt, cultured young coconut pulp; kimchi made with napa cabbage, daikon, kombu, peppers, garlic, scallions, and ginger; kraut combining fermented cabbage with kale and carrots; and garlic beets. Products are available through retailers and food businesses in the Pittsburgh region and nearby Pennsylvania communities. Prescription Foods also offers gut health coaching and educational programs that combine dietary guidance, food preparation instruction, counseling, and support. Its six-week Gut Reset program includes an individual session, weekly virtual meetings, guidance on fermented foods, and access to food-making classes. The company’s overall focus is flavorful fermented foods and practical nutrition learning.
