## Description

PrimeGrid is a brand that aims to advance mathematics by harnessing the processing power of everyday computer users to search for prime numbers. By downloading and installing the BOINC software used by PrimeGrid, participants can contribute to various sub-projects focused on finding different types of prime numbers. These sub-projects include the 321 Prime Search, Cullen-Woodall Search, Extended Sierpinski Problem, Generalized Fermat Prime Search, Prime Sierpinski Project, Proth Prime Search, Fermat Divisor Search, Seventeen or Bust, Sierpinski/Riesel Base 5, Sophie Germain Prime Search, The Riesel problem, and AP27 Search. Participants have the opportunity to discover large or even record-breaking primes, which can be entered into The Largest Known Primes Database. Additionally, PrimeGrid provides educational materials about primes and contributes to the field of mathematics. Primes also play a crucial role in computer security, and by studying prime numbers, PrimeGrid aids in determining the security of cryptographic systems.
