## Description

Primo Tesoro della lingua italiana del Novecento is a digital literary and language research project developed by Fondazione Maria e Goffredo Bellonci, with support from the Regione Lazio. It brings together novels published between 1947 and 2021 that were recognized by, or participated in, the Premio, creating an electronic corpus of twentieth-century Italian prose. The texts are indexed and can be explored through simple and advanced searches, allowing users to investigate the words and language patterns found in the works. The project also provides materials including Tullio De Mauro’s introduction, studies on grammar and examples of usage, and statistical tables. Its aim is to make an important body of Italian literature accessible while supporting research into vocabulary, syntax and changes in contemporary Italian. By examining writers’ work alongside the country’s major social and educational transformations, the resource offers a way to consider how prose literature reflected and contributed to the evolution of Italian language and society.
