Princeton-Blairstown Center (PBC) has been offering adventure-based, experiential education to vulnerable youth for over 115 years. What started as a summer camp founded by Princeton University undergraduates and alumni has now transformed into a premier outdoor education center. With a vast range of yearly programs, PBC caters to almost 6,000 young people annually.
Notably, their acclaimed Summer Bridge Program, Venture Out, and Leader-in-Training initiatives serve around 650 students from marginalized communities in Trenton, Newark, and Camden, NJ, completely free of charge. As pioneers in social-emotional learning, Princeton-Blairstown Center helps young individuals in developing vital 21st Century Skills like communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Through intentionally designed activities, their trained facilitators encourage small groups to take healthy risks and create profound bonds, fostering a positive climate and culture.
With their evidence-based curriculum, PBC enables an impressive 80-90% of students to grow in teamwork, problem-solving, and their affinity for nature.
