## Description

The American Printing History Association (APHA) is a membership organization dedicated to encouraging the study of printing history and the related arts and crafts. It brings together researchers, practitioners, collectors, and others interested in how printing has shaped culture and society. APHA supports this community through an annual conference, lectures, awards, fellowships, chapters, tours, and opportunities to share research. Its publications include Printing History, a journal featuring scholarly articles, interviews, and reviews, alongside newsletters, special publications, and back issues. The association also maintains public research resources, including a history of printing timeline, bibliographies, checklists, and guides to printing and allied crafts, with dedicated resources on BIPOC printers. Members can participate through local chapters, print exchanges, volunteer work, and member publications. APHA’s events connect people with libraries, museums, historic sites, and collections, while its calls for papers and lightning talks welcome emerging and established scholarship. Through these programs and resources, APHA fosters informed engagement with the history and continuing practice of print.
