## Description

Prison Insider is an independent information platform focused on prisons and detention conditions around the world. It aims to provide rigorous, accessible reporting and defend the fundamental rights of people in prison, helping to combat torture and prevent human rights violations. The platform takes a collaborative approach and welcomes contributions from its readers and partners.

Its resources include country profiles, the Prison Life Index, comparison tools and thematic dossiers, offering ways to explore and compare prison systems. Prison Insider also publishes testimonies, interviews, analysis, investigations, reports and photo portfolios that bring forward the experiences of incarcerated people, their families and others affected by detention. A press review gathers news about prisons from around the world, while its monthly Panorama newsletter shares new publications, current developments, activities and upcoming events.

Prison Insider invites the public to support its work, contribute information and engage with its coverage. Through reporting, documentation and first-person accounts, it seeks to make prison conditions more visible and encourage informed attention to human rights behind bars.
