## Description

Privatemode is a confidential AI service from Edgeless Systems, designed to let organizations use cloud-scale AI while protecting sensitive information. Using confidential computing, the platform encrypts data before it leaves a user’s device and keeps it protected during processing. Its security approach includes hardware-enforced safeguards, remote attestation, transparency measures, and independent audits, allowing customers to verify key properties rather than rely on contractual assurances alone. Privatemode is ISO 27001 certified, GDPR compliant, and hosted in the EU; the company also states that it meets BSI C5:2026 criteria for very strong attestation.

The service provides access to AI through a chat app, API, coding tools, and integrations, with support for frontier AI models. It also offers AI features for Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including use with sensitive data. Privatemode serves organizations in insurance, the public sector, legal services, and healthcare, supporting workflows such as claims handling, citizen services, legal work, and documentation. Customers can explore usage-based pricing, request audit documentation, book demonstrations, and use desktop, Docker, SDK, or proxyless API options.
