## Description

PROBEB is the Portuguese Association of Non-Alcoholic Refreshment Drinks, representing a sector that has contributed to the transformation of beverages, packaging and communication in Portugal since 1963. Rather than selling drinks directly, the association supports and represents its members, sharing information about the industry and its role in the national economy. Its work covers environmental issues, including packaging and circularity, as well as health topics such as hydration and evidence-based discussion of common claims. PROBEB also highlights the sector’s contribution to Portuguese production and employment, and examines competitiveness, taxation and consumption trends in Portugal and the European Union. Through news, research and sector analysis, it reports on product reformulation and innovation, including efforts to balance composition, flavour, stability and quality as the range of non-alcoholic drinks evolves. The association also covers initiatives such as VOLTA, a deposit-return system for beverage containers, and shares updates on consumer engagement and packaging returns. Based in Lisbon, PROBEB provides a platform for industry information and public dialogue.
