## Description

ProGIreg is an innovative project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme, aimed at harnessing nature for urban regeneration. Running from June 2018 to November 2023, ProGIreg stands for “productive Green Infrastructure for post-industrial urban regeneration.” The initiative focuses on developing and implementing nature-based solutions (NbS) across four front-runner cities: Dortmund (Germany), Turin (Italy), Zagreb (Croatia), and Ningbo (China). Through Living Labs, diverse NbS have been tested and tailored to address urban challenges while enhancing community well-being.

The project emphasizes co-creation, bringing together local citizens, businesses, governments, and NGOs to design solutions that improve living conditions and bolster economic benefits. ProGIreg also extends its influence to other global cities such as Cascais, Cluj-Napoca, Piraeus, and Zenica, promoting knowledge exchange and replication of successful strategies. Additionally, ProGIreg offers a MOOC on nature-based urban regeneration, providing insights into collaborative practices and sustainable business models that ensure the long-term viability of these initiatives.
