## Description

Programa Cuba is an academic initiative focused on democracy, authoritarianism, and political transitions in Cuba and Latin America. Affiliated with Universidad Sergio Arboleda, it examines current political developments and promotes research, public discussion, and international dialogue on democratic challenges and human rights. Its work includes academic journals, books, research projects, interviews, media contributions, and a digital library covering topics such as law and politics, authoritarianism, Cuban history, the economy and society, arts and culture, and gender.

The program shares research and analysis through publications, news, campaigns, and media appearances, and convenes audiences through conferences, events, and dialogues about Cuba. Its activities include the Congress on Democracy and Human Rights in Latin America, virtual and in-person events, research stays, courses, and film-related programming. The outreach journal Autocratization features work on subjects including populism, authoritarianism, academic freedom, and cooperation among autocratic governments; the program also invites contributions to its issues. Through these offerings, Programa Cuba connects scholars, journalists, activists, and wider audiences with informed perspectives on political change and democratic life across the region.
