## Description

Project Access of Durham County (PADC) is a community health organization dedicated to improving the health of uninsured and underserved residents. Its vision is for every Durham County resident to have access to quality health care in an environment that supports health and well-being. PADC works with community partners to connect eligible residents with care and address barriers to receiving it.

Through its Donated Specialty Care Network, PADC links low-income, uninsured residents who need specialty care with local clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, hospitals, and providers that donate services. Its Durham Homeless Care Transitions project supports unsheltered people leaving hospitals by helping them connect with health care, benefits, housing, and other resources. The Health Equipment Loan Program recycles, restores, and lends durable medical equipment to Durham County residents.

Since 2008, PADC reports serving 16,000 residents and facilitating 57,000 specialty consultations. Its programs also provide donated medications, medical respite support, and equipment loans, strengthening the local health care safety net.
