# Project Child - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `projectchild.co.in` ## Description Project “CHILD” is a school health initiative established by a group of doctors in Assam. Described as the state’s oldest and most comprehensive school health programme, it aims to make schools healthier and safer by addressing students’ medical needs through emergency, preventive, promotive and curative care. The programme reports more than 18 years of service, over 2,200 schools reached and more than 600,000 students impacted. Its services include emergency medical care, long-term physical health support, lifestyle management, school staff health promotion, and guidance on school ergonomics and safety. Mental health offerings include workshops, campaigns, psychometric, IQ and personality assessments, the Happy Child Index, and counselling. Project “CHILD” also provides adolescent reproductive and sexual health programming and CPR training. Its multidisciplinary team includes doctors specializing in areas such as eye care, ENT, dentistry, internal medicine, surgery, gynaecology and paediatrics.
