## Description

Project Evāra is a student-led initiative focused on textile waste and the environmental impacts of fast fashion, with particular attention to Bengaluru. Its work highlights the challenge of non-reusable synthetic clothing, especially polyester garments and blends, which often enter household waste and may be burned in cement kilns or sent to landfills. The initiative aims to help people rethink how they consume, reuse, and dispose of clothing through awareness campaigns, collection drives, research, and community action.

Project Evāra also explores circular recovery options for textile waste. Proposed upcycling applications include acoustic panels for offices and studios, insulation boards, furniture filling for cushions and mattresses, and geotextiles for civil engineering uses such as road stabilization and erosion control. These are presented as ways to contain synthetic fibres in longer-lasting materials rather than allowing them to become waste.

Through public education, a textile habits survey, and efforts to build support for circular recovery infrastructure in Bengaluru, the team invites citizens to contribute to research and practical change.
