## Description

PISCES (Process Integration & Synthesis using Chemical Engineering Standards) is a platform for organizing and using process-engineering data in a format that works for both people and AI. It brings together flowsheets from sources such as scientific papers, spreadsheets, and process simulators, then helps extract, harmonize, and validate their information using the open Standard Flowsheet Format (SFF). Its public database features process designs across biofuels, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, and energy, while private workspaces let teams manage proprietary flowsheets, collaborate with comments, and track revisions.

PISCES also offers Florence, an AI process-engineering assistant designed to answer questions about flowsheets, identify data gaps, suggest improvements, and support process design. The platform includes or is developing tools for techno-economic and life-cycle assessment, process simulation, and generative design. Users can import models from systems including SuperPro Designer, BioSTEAM, Aspen Plus, COCO, DWSIM, and ProSimPlus. By connecting data management, analysis, and design in one collaborative environment, PISCES aims to make process knowledge more accessible, reusable, and useful.
