## Description

PROMYS, the Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists, is a Boston University program offering deep, exploratory mathematics education for talented high school students and secondary teachers. For more than three decades, it has encouraged learners to approach mathematics through discovery, perseverance, creativity, and proof, providing tools for exploration rather than ready-made solutions. Its six-week summer program for high school students welcomes strongly motivated participants from the United States and around the world. PROMYS also hires college mathematics undergraduates as counselors, who mentor students during the summer program.

For educators, PROMYS for Teachers combines a six-week summer experience with five annual workshops focused on intensive mathematical problem solving. PROMYS Pathways provides free enrichment opportunities for Massachusetts students, while the wider PROMYS family includes programs in Europe, India, and Italy. Across its offerings, the organization fosters a supportive mathematical community bringing together students, undergraduates, graduate students, teachers, and research mathematicians. Need-based financial aid is available to students, up to the full cost of participation.
