## Description

**Brand Description: Dokumentationszentrum Prora** Situated within the monumental site of the KdF-Seebad Rügen, the Dokumentationszentrum Prora is a significant cultural institution dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the site and its connections to the National Socialist regime. Located in Prora, part of the Ostseebad Binz on the picturesque island of Rügen, this center is renowned for its role in showcasing the 4.7 km-long complex originally built between 1936 and 1939 as a seaside resort for 20,000 visitors. Founded in 2000, the center's permanent exhibition, MACHTUrlaub, explores the intersection of leisure and power during the Nazi era, challenging enduring myths surrounding this period. Visitors can also experience special exhibitions, films, and interactive installations that trace the site's evolution. Engaging educational programs and temporary exhibitions on history, architecture, and politics further enrich the experience. A café enhances the visit, offering a place to reflect and unwind while discovering this unique chapter of history. Open daily, the center is accessible despite ongoing renovations.
