## Description

Protect Borrowers, previously known as the Student Borrower Protection Center, is dedicated to reforming the financial landscape for borrowers in the United States. Established in 2018, this organization comprises a team of lawyers, experts, and advocates working tirelessly to combat the economic barriers created by debt. Protect Borrowers focuses on delivering immediate financial relief to families while driving systemic reforms, combating predatory practices that exploit vulnerable populations. Their areas of expertise encompass a wide range of issues, including federal student loans, public service loan forgiveness, income-driven repayment options, and advocacy against predatory lending. The organization has successfully achieved significant milestones, such as suspending loan payments for millions of borrowers and cancelling substantial amounts of student debt. Protect Borrowers strives for an economy where debt does not limit opportunity, seeking justice and equity for marginalized communities, including veterans, older borrowers, and people of color. Through their committed efforts, Protect Borrowers aims to empower individuals and reshape the future of financial well-being in America.
