## Description

The International Society of Protistologists (ISOP) is a distinguished association dedicated to advancing the study of protists, which are single-celled eukaryotic organisms. Established with a commitment to promoting the presentation and discussion of significant findings in protistology, ISOP offers vital resources to support this scientific field. The society facilitates a range of events, including the upcoming 16th International Congress of Protistology (ICOP) to be held from June 22-27, 2025, at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea.

ISOP publishes important scholarly work, including the long-standing *Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology*, which has been disseminating knowledge since 1954. The society also organizes various symposiums, awards, and conferences that focus on diverse topics in protist research such as ecology, genetics, taxonomy, and the relationship between protists and pathogens. Through these initiatives, ISOP plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and innovation among protist researchers globally.
