Protorax is a Colombian thoracic surgery group bringing together specialists, technology, and multidisciplinary care for people with chest and lung conditions. Led by thoracic surgeons Diego Pardo, MD, and Luis F. Rueda, MD, the organization reports more than 20 years of experience in specialized thoracic care. Its services include thoracic and minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, lung cancer evaluation and surgical treatment, pulmonary transplantation, and ECMO therapy. Protorax also offers ambulance services, a rehabilitation center, and medical consultations, alongside laboratory and hospital-based care. The group provides care in Bogotá, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, and Montería, and highlights its lung transplant center in Barranquilla as the first approved center of its kind on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Protorax supports patients recovering from COVID-19 and other pulmonary conditions, and shares educational content through its podcast and videos. The organization emphasizes experienced clinicians, coordinated care, and a humane approach to treatment, and provides appointment scheduling and information for referring medical professionals.
