## Description

PROTOTYPE – OPERA | THEATRE | NOW is an annual festival that showcases visionary opera-theatre and music-theatre works by pioneering contemporary artists from New York City and around the world. As a co-production of Beth Morrison Projects and HERE, two trailblazing organizations in the creation and presentation of multi-disciplinary opera-theatre and music-theatre works, PROTOTYPE stands as a unique and influential festival in New York City. With a wide spectrum of works, ranging from intimate black-box experiences to larger chamber opera productions, PROTOTYPE values artistic, curatorial, and producorial risk-taking. The festival is dedicated to surprising and challenging audiences through innovative content, form, and relevance. PROTOTYPE serves as a platform for diverse and talented composers, librettists, performers, and musicians from all genres, backgrounds, and cultures. It provides a recurring showcase for visionary opera-theatre and music-theatre pieces, extending the touring life of the works throughout the world. Not only does PROTOTYPE present groundbreaking new works by international artists, but it has also become a global benchmark for artistic excellence in the opera and music-theatre field. The festival is managed by a dedicated team of directors and staff members, who collaborate year-round to plan and execute this dynamic event. For those interested in joining the PROTOTYPE community, opportunities for jobs and positions will be available for the upcoming festival. Additionally, the festival provides information about venues and directions to ensure attendees have a smooth experience. As PROTOTYPE continues to push boundaries and celebrate the art of opera and music-theatre, it remains committed to honoring and acknowledging the Lenape ancestors on whose land it stands.
