## Description

The Pakistan Society of Interventional Cardiology (PSIC) is a professional society founded in 2005 to advance interventional cardiology and cardiovascular care in Pakistan. Based in Lahore, it brings together cardiologists, researchers, and other healthcare professionals to share knowledge, develop expertise, and promote high standards of practice. Its mission emphasizes structured training, innovation, ethical patient care, and alignment with global standards, particularly in a resource-limited setting.

PSIC supports professional development through online fellows’ training sessions, workshops, conferences, hands-on learning, and certification programs. Its educational topics include coronary interventions, intracoronary imaging and physiology, chronic total occlusion procedures, peripheral interventions, and radiation safety. The society also provides membership pathways and information for primary operators, including registration instructions and a list of approved operators.

Beyond training, PSIC promotes research, international collaboration, national cardiovascular registries, preventive strategies, and public awareness of heart health. It aims to encourage patient safety, evidence-based practice, and consistent procedural standards, while contributing to scientific exchange and improved access to cardiac care.
