## Description

PsychoPy is an open-source platform for building and running behavioral and psychological experiments, developed by scientists for research and teaching. Its free desktop application supports in-lab studies and offers both a visual Builder interface for creating experiments and a coding environment for greater customization. Designed to be accessible to students while supporting demanding research, PsychoPy includes hardware-accelerated graphics, stimulus calibration tools, precise timing, automated logging, and connections to devices such as eye trackers, button boxes, and trigger systems. Researchers can create dynamic, interactive tasks, including studies for psychophysics and neuroimaging.

Experiments can also be adapted for the web using PsychoJS, PsychoPy’s JavaScript library, and hosted on Pavlovia, where researchers can share studies, run browser-based experiments, and build surveys. The wider PsychoPy offering includes documentation, tutorials, textbooks, workshops, and community resources. Open Science Tools supports the software’s continued development through Pavlovia licenses, consultancy, and training workshops. Together, PsychoPy and Pavlovia provide tools for creating, delivering, and sharing experiments in both laboratory and online settings.
