## Description

Psykologihistoriska Sällskapet is a Swedish society dedicated to increasing knowledge of psychology’s development and history, particularly in Sweden. Its work is carried out on a voluntary basis and supported by individual members and sponsoring organisations, including universities and the Swedish Psychological Association. The society welcomes people and organisations interested in supporting its activities.

The website offers historical resources and educational content for members, teachers and the wider public. Visitors can explore filmed lectures, documents, historical material and presentations on topics such as psychology’s role in Sweden’s 1967 transition to right-hand traffic, the history of group psychology, stress research and the development of psychological methods. A collection of 26 senior psychologists’ accounts describes working life and changes in the profession during the second half of the twentieth century, helping new psychologists understand the field’s development. The society also shares information about events, publications and research history, including a symposium book on influential Swedish researchers Gunnar Johansson and Gösta Ekman.
