## Description

The Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA), established in January 1994, serves as the foremost representative body for psychology professionals in South Africa. It emerged from the merging of various professional organizations, aimed at addressing the evolving mental health landscape of the nation during a transformative period. PsySSA is dedicated to advocating for the mental health and psychosocial well-being of South Africans. It engages with government and other stakeholders to influence policy and promote psychological perspectives in societal development.

PsySSA offers a diverse range of services, including membership benefits, continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities, access to the South African Journal of Psychology, and organized workshops and congresses, including the annual South African Psychology Congress. These initiatives foster professional growth and collaboration among members, enriching the field with shared knowledge and expertise. By nurturing a strong community among psychologists, PsySSA remains committed to enhancing the role of psychology in all aspects of life in South Africa.
