About
Description
PTAFF, short for Pembroke Taparelli Arts and Film Festival, is an international Artivist event that combines art and social justice. Founded in 2016, PTAFF provides a platform for independent artists devoted to social justice to share their work with the global community. The festival showcases various forms of art, including film, theatre, spoken word, painting, sculpture, and photography, that shed light on pressing societal issues such as poverty, gender inequality, homelessness, and racism, among others.
PTAFF aims to inspire conversation and promote a better understanding of the power of art in combating injustices that have become part of our daily lives. The festival celebrates artists who fearlessly express the good, bad, and ugly aspects of our world and hold themselves accountable for creating change. Additionally, PTAFF affirms the role of the arts in strengthening universal commitment to human rights and social justice, promotes peace and mutual respect through the arts, and brings together filmmakers, performers, artists, and educators to share their work with community leaders and audiences.
Furthermore, PTAFF seeks to create a pathway for socially conscious films and artwork to enter mainstream distribution. The festival also honors individuals and organizations through awards for their activism and use of art to initiate positive change. With a dedicated board and passionate team, PTAFF is committed to fostering hope and transforming lives through artivism
