## Description

PTEN Italia is an Italian association dedicated to people affected by PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome (PHTS) and their families. Its mission is to increase understanding of these rare genetic conditions, support research toward effective treatments, and connect patients with reliable information and useful contacts. PHTS can involve an increased risk of benign and malignant tumours and may also cause neurological problems; the association provides information on related conditions, including Cowden syndrome, Bannayan-Riley-Ruvalcaba syndrome and Lhermitte-Duclos disease.

The organisation promotes knowledge, research, awareness and the sharing of experiences, while encouraging mutual support among people living with a PHTS diagnosis. It publishes news and guidance, including updates on international recommendations for diagnosis and care, and offers ways to contact the association and stay informed through its newsletter and events. In collaboration with the US-based PTEN Foundation, PTEN Italia established an international patient registry for people with PHTS. The association also invites donations to support research and its work for the patient community.
